Moxie Overdrive Pedal

The Moxie is Brian Wampler’s twisted take on a vintage ‘screamer style’ circuit in a compact, pedalboard friendly enclosure.

The original Ibanez® Tube Screamer® is one of the most emulated circuit designs of all time and has been pushing amplifiers since it was first released in the late 1970s. While many companies create 808/TS9 style pedals, the TS10® was always a favorite of Brian’s. Capable of anything from light boost to a gritty drive that can send an amplifier into heavily overdriven tones, the Moxie is an ultra-flexible, wonderfully warm and rich pedal but with an extra bite.

In addition to the standard controls, Brian has added two unique switches. The Voice switch adds clarity by changing the entire EQ associated with this design giving it a more transparent yet robust tone. The Fat switch adds an extra dimension of gain with a custom MOSFET clipping stage, reminiscent of a classic high-end boutique amp.

Volume: Controls the total output volume.

Gain:Adjusts the total amount of gain that is applied, turning this control clockwise will increase the amount.

Tone: Adjust the amount of low-end / high-end frequencies, turning clockwise will increase the levels, counter clockwise to decrease.

Voice Mode Switch: Select between two distinct voices - Left is stock, Right is enhanced clarity.

Fat Mode Switch: Engage Fat mode - Left is stock, Right alters the clipping and gain profile.

Power: This pedal was designed around the usage of a 9-18V DC power source only. To avoid damage to the pedal, do not exceed 18V DC, do not use center pin positive adapters, and do not use AC power. Use only a 9V DC power source that is intended for guitar pedals. This pedal draws approximately 11mA at 9V and 16mA at 18V.
